What we collect

If you sign up, we collect your email address (handled by Clerk, our auth provider) and store it alongside your account in Supabase. If you upgrade, billing is handled by Stripe — we never see card details.

For each enhancement made through the hosted service we log metadata only: the model used, token counts, latency, the AI site (e.g. claude.ai), and a timestamp. This is what we use to enforce your monthly quota. We do not log your prompt text or the model's response.

The Chrome extension stores your settings — selected mode, your Anthropic API key (BYOK mode only), your hosted session token, model preference, and any custom meta-prompts — in your browser's local extension storage. None of this is synced to our servers in BYOK mode. In Hosted mode, only the session token is associated with your account.

Analytics & cookies

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which features people use. Both collect standard web analytics signals (page URL, referrer, approximate country, device type). GA4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions; GA4 does not store IP addresses. Neither service is used for ad targeting and we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising-personalization features. Google Analytics processes data per Google's privacy policy. If you want to opt out, browser extensions like Google's official opt-out add-on will block our analytics calls without affecting the extension or the rest of the site.

What we don't do

• We don't log the content of your prompts or the AI's responses.
• We don't sell or share your email address.
• We don't run advertising pixels (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
• We don't profile your browsing across other sites.

BYOK mode (your own Anthropic key)

In BYOK mode, your Anthropic API key is stored in your browser's extension storage and sent directly to api.anthropic.com when you click Enhance. The key never reaches our servers, and your prompts in BYOK mode are handled entirely between your browser and Anthropic.

Hosted mode

In Hosted mode, the extension sends your prompt and any conversation context to our backend, which forwards it to Anthropic and returns the result. We do not log the prompt or response — only the metadata noted above. Anthropic's processing is governed by their commercial terms and privacy policy.

Account deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, email jeffrey@promptenhancer.app. We'll delete your row from our database, cancel any active subscription, and confirm by reply.
